Linn County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 22-year-old Lebanon man found in a motor home in the Quartzville Corridor last week.
They responded to a report of the deceased male by a U.S. Bureau of Land Management employee at 9:51 a.m. on Oct. 17.
A female who had been camping near Broken Bridge, in the Yellowbottom Campground area, roughly 25 miles up from Highway 20, told the BLM employee about an older motor home parked at Broken Bridge.
She reported that the motor home had been parked there for four days, and she had not seen anyone moving around it, said Linn County Sheriff’s Cpt. Kevin Guilford. She knocked on the door but received no answer. She looked inside through the back window and saw someone lying there who appeared to be deceased.
Linn County deputies and U.S. Forest Service law enforcement responded.
Deputies identified the body as David Andre Nofziger, 22, of Lebanon.
There was no sign of trauma or foul play, Guilford said. The investigation is continuing, and it appears narcotics may have been involved.
The medical examiner still needs to complete an exam.
