The Sweet Home golf team traveled to Medford on Wednesday and participated in the Second Annual Phoenix Invitational Golf Tournament.
In the highly competitive boys tournament, the Huskies took fifth out of eight teams, scoring a season-low 334.
Leading the way with season- and career-bests were senior Ryan Elliott and freshman Travis Ramoz, each scoring an 84.
Sam Waller also contributed with a team-best 79, good for 12th overall in the tournament.
Host Phoenix shot a school-record 296 to win, followed by Marist at 306. Henley shot 314, and North Valley shot 330. St. Mary’s at 337 and Sutherlin at 339 followed the Huskies.
“It was a very good outing for us, something we would like to build on as district approaches,” Coach Tom Horn said.
Chelsea Gagner and Megan Moser represented the lady Huskies in the same event as individuals, so no team score was kept. Gagner finished the tournament in second place with a score of 84. Moser played a solid round and finished in 136 strokes.
