The high school boys lost 4-0 at Cottage Grove in soccer on Oct. 11.
“We did some good stuff,” said Coach Ryan Regrutto. “We’re not finishing our chances.”
Good things are happening in spurts, he said, but they’re not going a full game.
Cottage Grove led 2-0 at halftime.
“We did have a lot more opportunities in the second half,” Regrutto said. “We just didn’t finish our chances.”
That isn’t to say Cottage Grove didn’t play well, Regrutto said. The Lions deserved the win.
Drayson Scott played a great game, Regrutto said. “He worked really hard and has been playing great the past few games.”
Others, like Bret Adams, are also doing a good job, he said. “I don’t think there’s many kids who will try as hard as he does.”
The Huskies were scheduled to host Elmira Tuesday, and that’s a game he thinks his team should be able to win.
“This is a game the boys believe they can win already,” Regrutto said. “We really have a great chance of beating them.”
The Huskies visit Junction City Thursday and host Sisters on Oct. 25 to finish the regular season.
The Huskies are winless and last in league.
