The Huskies boys soccer team lost to Sisters 7-0 Thursday afternoon at home and to Junction City 9-1 on the road on Sept. 28.
Ole Olsen, assisted by Chris Carpenter, kicked in the Huskies’ goal against Junction City.
“It was a tough game,” said Coach Ryan Regrutto. “The boys fought really hard and didn’t give up.”
They certainly have something to be proud of for their efforts, he said.
Against Sisters, the Huskies trailed 1-0 at halftime, Regrutto said. “We had a really good chance of doing something.”
But with a shortage of players, some of the boys are playing an exhausting 80 minutes, Regrutto said, adding that they keep giving it everything they have no matter what even as the opponent’s score mounts.
“For that I’m really proud of them,” he said. “It’s hard for the kids. I really appreciate all they’ve done.”
