The high school boys soccer team ended its season with a 4-1 loss at Stayton on Thursday.
On Oct. 16, the Huskies lost to Sisters 5-1.
Both goals last week were scored by Chris King.
The losses end the Huskies season, leaving them with a 2-6 league record. One of the wins was by forfeit. The other was against North Marion two weeks ago.
“I think they were both 2-1 at the half,” Coach Brett Bowers said, showing the team played well up to the half. The Huskies did better against Stayton, with more shots on Stayton than they were able to get against Sisters, but the shots didn’t go in.
“They and I are happy,” Coach Bowers said of the season. “There was some improvement from the beginning to the end. Scores went down.”
The Huskies know they improved, Coach Bowers said, and they’re “pretty hopeful next year.”
The recent win against North Marion was the highlight of the year, Coach Bowers said. Both he and his team are satisfied knowing they improved on last year’s performance with the win.
