BREAKING: Motor Vehicle Collison Ends in No Injury

Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District (SHFAD) responded to a motor vehicle collision Monday, April 29, at 1:48 p.m. Upon arrival, crews got busy assessing the damages and closing down lanes to keep the victims safe.

“We didn’t transport anyone,” Battalion Chief Randy Whitfield said. “Which is a good thing. There was only one potential minor injury.”

The scene included a blue GMC Yukon with a folded back bumper and a white Honda Accord with a substantial amount of front end damage. SHFAD also closed three lanes to ensure safety. SHFAD, Linn County Sheriff’s Department, Oregon State Police and Sweet Home Police Department were on scene.

The Accord is likely totaled, according to Whitfield, due to the substantial damage.

Also according to Whitfield, both vehicles were traveling westbound, out of Sweet Home towards Lebanon. The Accord was carrying two people, and the Yukon had one. During the travel, the Accord struck the back end of the Yukon, ending the travel right around the 29000 block of Highway 20, or right outside of Manx Lane.
