Burnetts celebrate anniversary

Dale and Cathy Burnett are celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary.

They were married on July 17, 1965 at St. Edwards in Lebanon.

When Mr. Burnett got out of the Army, he went to work for Santiam Lumber Company. He was barker lead man at Willamette Industries for 39 years with the honor of “no lost time injury.”

Mr. Burnett built the home where they live. They also built a vacation home on the Oregon coast.

Mr. Burnett also enjoys farming.

Mrs. Burnett taught at Hawthorne School for 30 years. She coached after-school sports. She also taught religious education class at St. Helen’s Catholic Church. One of her favorite projects is working on Christmas baskets. She has helped with the SMART reading program. She enjoys selling Mary Kay.

Since retirement, the couple has enjoyed working with their 100 rhododendrons, traveling and golf. Their favorite vacation was a monthlong trip to Australia and New Zealand. They also enjoy being snowbirds to Arizona during part of the winter.

Their four children are Karen Thompson of Caldwell, Idaho; Dawn Burnett of Medford; Roger Burnett of Sweet Home; and Lori Woehl of Prineville. They have seven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
