Let’s let the bus drivers design their routes.
Why not have a passenger van parked at Foster School to pick up the children to the east? The kids could transfer to the full-sided bus at Foster and the gas savings would be great.
Also, shouldn’t the child farthest from the school be picked up first?
As it is, a large family of children with a Foster address are picked up at 6:30 a.m. on the way to Yukwah Park, and ride for an hour and are right back at their own house.
I say if the bus drivers can plan the route so they save gas and save the children from needless travel, they should get the savings as a bonus. The bonus would be based on last year’s gas usage minus this years.
The drivers know the road conditions and know the children; let’s let them make the decisions about the safest and least costly way to get the children to school.
Thanks for your attention.
