Businesses truly deserve support

I support local business but then I shop at Wal-Mart, after that I will head over to Albany to do some real shopping.

I’m a hypocritical “Local” shopper. Last night I was walking my dogs down Main Street here in town and noticed how much our town does have to offer. I walked by a local book store, and thought of a lot of older books that I would like to spend some time searching for.

After that I peeked into the windows of Trash to Treasures; talk about too much to see from the window. It looks like they have some amazing collectible and unique items.

Periwinkles health food and Christian theme and books looks like a good place to stop and visit. If you are looking for some clothes, Trash to Treasures also had a ton of items.

There is also a new shop, Gsix Security, that is a guys’ place to stop. Camo, military surplus, flags, knives and all kinds of stuff any guy would be looking for.

You know they also have things for the ladies, come to think on it. Then, after a hard day of shopping, swing over and get a tattoo at that small building near the Frontier. Why go to a bigger town?

Do you know that large places, like Safeway, track transactions vs staff? Why shop for food at Walmart? Buy it here in town. Stop by Thriftway or Safeway. Either way, you are helping support LOCAL people.

I know some of the places in town have some off times when they are open, but a phone call and a little planning and you can spend some money locally.

There are so many more that I didn’t add, like Rita’s Relics – amazing little store, especially if you want to strike it rich in gold mining.

In short, don’t be like me, when you say you support local business. Go out and shop local.
