The man who was found dead after falling into the upper Calapooia River while walking his dogs on May 16, was identified last week by the Linn County Sheriff’s Office as Alan Burgess, 53, of Albany.
Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District reported Burgess’s age as 58 in initial reports of the incident.
SHFAD rescue swimmers recovered Burgess’s body after his wife reported that he had fallen into the river and had floated around a bend.
