Angie Bean, nee Burnett, a former resident of Sweet Home, was named to the Dean’s List for spring quarter 2004. To qualify, students must take at least 12 graded credits and have a GPA of 3.5 or better.

Bean is a graduate of Sweet Home High School. her mother, Rosemary Urban, is a resident of Sweet Home. Her father, Glenn Burnett, lives in Albany.

Bean is about to enter her senior year of MEDEX/Physician Assistant Program. She expects to graduate in June 2005.

University of Montana

Katherine Sportsman, a junior from Ketchikan, Alaska, received a $1,000 Susan K. Grebeldinger Scholarshsip in the Political Science Department. She is a 2001 graduate of Ketchikan High School. Her parents are Jon and Tawny Sportsman of Sweet Home.

U of O summer grads: Emily Anne Gaskey of Sweet Home received her bachelor of science degree in journalism-public relations, Saturday, August 14, during commencement at the University of Oregon.

Gregory J. Vincent, U of O vice provost for institutional equity and diversity, addressed the 1,199 degree candidates. Of those, 729 received bachelor degrees.
