Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District responded to a call about a single vehicle that went off the road and traveled about 20 feet down an embankment on North River Drive Monday, July 22.
According to authorities a black Camaro had left the roadway and traveled about 20 feet down an embankment toward Foster Reservoir at approximately 10 p.m. The car did not enter the water but sustained serious damage after striking several trees, one of which fell and blocked the road.
Authorities believe high speed and unfamiliarity with the roadway may have caused the crash. The single occupant was reported trapped in the vehicle until Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District arrived and used their extraction tools to free the occupant. No injuries were reported, and the occupant refused medical treatment.
One commander rig, one rescue rig, and one medical unit were used in the response.
