Carla Gange-McIntyre

May 12, 1950 – May 1, 2011

Carla Jean Gange-McIntyre, 60, of Albany, died May 1, 2011.

She was born May 12, 1950 to Carl and Rosemary (Leier) Gange in Minot, N.D.

Her family moved to Sweet Home, and she attended and graduated from Sweet Home High School. After high school she married Bill McIntyre and made their home in Sweet Home with their two children, Chuck and Staci.

The McIntyres later divorced, and she resided in Albany until her passing.

Mrs. Gange-McIntyre was a stay-at-home mother and bookkeeper for their family trucking business for many years. After their business dissolved she worked various jobs around Lebanon, Sweet Home, and most recently for the Oregon Employment Department in Albany.

She also earned a certificate in business and health services from Linn-Benton Community College.

Mrs. Gange-McIntyre loved kids, whether babysitting or just hanging out. She treated all children as if they were family.

Mrs. McIntyre was a great cook. Her special meal was egg rolls, which were amazing and asked for frequently. She also made incredible pickled carrots and watermelon from recipes passed down from her aunt.

She is survived by her daughter Staci of Las Vegas, Nev.; son Chuck and daughter-in-law Shauna McIntyre of Sweet Home; one grandson; her mother, Rosemary Gange of Puyallup, Wash.; brothers Gary and sister-in-law Marg Gange of Washington, Chuck and sister-in-law Linda Gange of Minnesota, and Jand and sister-in-law Cheryl Gange of Tennessee; sisters Cindy and brother-in-law Kerry Meyers of Washington, Candice and brother-in-law Tad Chittenden of Washington, Faye Miller of Salem, Karen and brother-in-law Gary Applegate of Boardman, Bonnie Waite of Albany, Sandy and brother-in-law Scott Sell of Sacramento, Calif., and Brenda Murad of Kuwait.

A memorial service was held May 7 at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.

Contributions may be made in Mrs. Gange-McIntyre’s name to Sweet Home High School Alumni Foundation.
