Carmen Hyde, 91, of Sweet Home, died on Feb. 5, 2008 at Lebanon Rehab.
She was born May 5, 1916 in Gallup, N.M. to Canuto and Antonia Maldonado, one of five children.
She married Walter Hyde on Oct. 1, 1934 in Flagstaff, Ariz. They later settled in Bend and came to Sweet Home in 1948.
Mrs. Hyde was an avid volunteer with Girl Scouts and the PTA, and served as a greeter at the East Linn Museum. She loved helping others as she spent over 20 years with the Sweet Home Emergency Ministries.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane Rozell of Lebanon; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Hyde was proceeded in death by all of her siblings, Victoria, Louie, Pete and Junior; her husband, Walter, in 1972; daughters, Betty Jo Mullenix in 1993 and Margaret Ann Ringheimer in 2005; and a grandson, Darold Dewayne Rozell.
A celebration of her life was held Feb. 11 at The Sweet Home Funeral Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the American Heart Association or SHEM.
