Carol Frances Duncan Clark, 64, of Sweet Home died May 22, 2013.
She was born Sept. 24, 1948 in Redmond to Edgar and Nora (Ipoc) Duncan. She was raised and attended school in Redmond. She moved to Sweet Home in 1996.
She met the love of her life, Bert Clark, in high school. They married on Oct. 9, 1966.
After high school, Mrs. Clark worked in several nursing homes as an aide. She discovered a love for nursing and went to college to earn her LPN. She worked at Central Oregon District Hospital as a nurse for many years. She returned to college and earned a degree in Medical Records technology. She worked as a medical records manager at Bachelor Butte Nursing Home in Bend for many years.
She was proud to be the wife of a USMC Vietnam veteran. She earned a 1st Degree Black Belt of the American Taekwondo Association. She was an accomplished quilt maker. She was known as a wonderful cook.
Mrs. Clark is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bert Clark of Sweet Home; daughters Heidi Clark-Curtis and son-in-law Michael of Redmond, and Teresa Clark of Sweet Home; three grandchildren, sisters Virginia Cansler of Yuma, Ariz., Lena Sue Priday of Honduras, and Sharon Duncan of Durango, Colo.; brothers Leroy Duncan of Prairie City, Glen Duncan of Redmond, Harold Duncan of Powell Butte and Harvey Duncan of Prineville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Edgar Duncan (1984); mother Nora Duncan (2007); sister Floy Case (1977) and sister-in-law Marie Duncan (2010).
Viewing will be 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at Sweet Home Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1p.m.
Contributions may be made in her name to the Autism Foundation or Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.
