Carol Marie Lewis
August 7, 1952 – September 16, 2024
Carol Marie Lewis, 72, of Sweet Home passed away Monday, September 16, 2024. She was born on August 7, 1952, to Gene Dale and June E. (May) Calhoon in Lebanon.
Carol lived in Sweet Home most of her life. She was a foster parent for about 15 years. She and her husband Dennis founded and pastored Victory Faith Fellowship and she did outreach ministry for many, many years delivering food, clothing, household necessities to those in need, as well as a prison ministry.
Carol fell in love with and married the boy next door, literally. She and Denny had 55 happy years together. Carol loved being a mom and mema. She was passionate about sharing the love of Jesus with everyone she could. She enjoyed singing with her sisters and worshipping the Lord.
Carol is survived by children: Tony Lewis of Sweet Home, Rebecca Taylor of Tangent, Tiffany Troite of Sweet Home, Zachary Lewis of Sweet Home, Jeff Anderson of Canby, Andy Free of Columbia Falls, MT, Julie Volkers of Lebanon, Tiffany Horn of Polson, MT, Phillipe Lewis of Buffalo, NY; siblings; Connie Peck of Albany, Jeanie Thorpe of Sweet Home, Vivian Carpenter of Bend, Meredith Woodard of Sweet Home, Melody Hutchinson of Albany, Barbara Wyant of LaPine; 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Dennis Lewis (2024); parents Gene and June Calhoon.
When Carol stood before the throne of God, He, no doubt, said to her, “Come, you blessed of My Father you favored of God, appointed to eternal salvation, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger, and you brought Me together with yourselves and welcomed and entertained and lodged me. I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick, and you visited Me with help and ministering care, I was in prison and you came to see Me.” Matthew 25:34-36 (AMP)
A combined Celebration of Life for Carol and Dennis will be 4 pm, Saturday, September 28th at the Community Chapel. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements.
