Nathanael and Eva Looney will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on May 13.
Eva Cowitz of Sweet Home and Nathanael Looney of Molalla were married on May 13, 1939 in Vancouver, Wash. When they were married, their folks took them to a movie, then they drove to Seaside and rented a motel room for a dollar.
Their children include Keith and Bett Looney of Sweet Home, Glen and Dianna Looney of Sweet Home and Galyn and Kathleen Roth of Christmas Valley. They enjoy their nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
The couple has lived at 28176 Ridgeway Rd., where Mrs. Looney was born, for 65 years.
Mr. Looney is a logger and farmer. He worked for the school district until he retired. He loves to fish and hunt.
Mrs. Looney is a housewife and farmer.
