Central Linn freshman Anya Griffith led the Cobras at the Meet of Champions Saturday, April 26, at Sweet Home.
The meet brought together top athletes from some 50 teams from throughout western Oregon, from Medford to Tillamook.

Griffith was fifth in the girls 400, in a personal best of 1:01.76, and sixth in the 1500, running 5:02.39, also a PR.
She also ran the lead-off leg for Central Linn’s girls 4×400 relay, which placed ninth in 4:29.32. The other runners were Jayne Neal, Jennifer Smith and Isabelle Curtis.
The boys 4×400 team of Coen Schneiter, Carter Mast, Jackson Duringer and Don Ware placed fourth, in 3:38.46.
Other competitors in the MOC for the Cobras were:
- Ware, ninth in the boys 400 in 52:17, a PR.
- Jackson Duringer, eighth in the 800 in 2:04.95, a PR
- Boys 4×100 relay team of Benito Manuel, Ware, Schneiter and Sawyer Kirk, who placed 15th in 46.47.
- Bob Cunningham, who was 15th in the high jump, clearing 5-6.
- Nolen Eversull, who was ninth in the triple jump, finishing with 39-9 3/4.
- Neal, 10th in the girls 800 in a season’s-best 2:29.88.
- Neal, who was 13th in the 1500 in a season’s-best 5:11.86.
- Girls 4×100 relay team of Isabelle Curtis, Jennifer Smith, Aaliyah Hite and Griffith, which placed 16th in 53.32.
