Chamber award nomination submissions due by Friday

Nominations for the 2010 Chamber of Commerce awards are being accepted through Friday, Feb. 18.

The 67th annual Awards Banquet will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 5, at the Jim Riggs Community Center.

Nominations for VIP Awards are closed, but BPW Woman of the Year, Junior First Citizen, First Citizen and Distinguished Service Award are still open.

BPW Woman of the Year is awarded on the basis of present religious, charitable and/or youth activity, present community service and prior years of community service.

Junior First Citizen is awarded to someone between 18 and 40 years old, who has served the community for at least 12 months in the Sweet Home School District.

First Citizen recipients are over 40 years old and have at least five years of active community service.

Distinguished Service Award recipients must be 55 years old or more and have contributed years of substantial community service in recent years or in the past.
