The Chamber of Commerce needs sponsors for tables at its annual Awards Banquet, to be held Saturday evening, March 8, at the Sweet Home High School Activities Gym.
“This is the one time during the year to recognize all the volunteers in our community who give so much of their time and energy,” said Pat Woods, one of the organizers. “We need more businesses, organizations, churches, or any one willing to help out.”
To sponsor a table, contact the Chamber of Commerce office, Pat Woods or Billie Weber.
This year’s banquet theme is “Sweet Home is Green and Growing.” Sponsors will buy the tickets for their table, then can sell the tickets to family members, social or business acquaintances, or to other people who need tickets and have contacted the chamber. Tickets are still available for at least five tables, Woods said.
On March 8, table sponsors will go to the Activities Gym and decorate their table in the theme of the banquet.
“It’s an easy theme to decorate, as St. Patty’s day is just around the corner and what is more green than that?” Woods said.
For information or to find available tickets, contact the chamber at 367-6186, Weber at 367- 2487 or Woods 367-5620.
Of all the stamps that have been used by the U.S. Postal Service, more have featured George Washington than any other person; so far there have been 305 with the likeness of the nation’s first president.
