Charles Cline

Feb. 20, 1916 – March 2, 2011

Charles “Leon” Cline, 95, died peacefully on March 2, 2011.

He was born Feb. 20, 1916 in Eureka Springs, Ark. to Charles and Sarah Cline. He moved with his parents at an early age and was reared in Oregon. At age 17 he began his 50-plus year career in the logging industry.

Mr. Cline loved his work, as well as fly fishing, playing his fiddle, and traveling with his wife Freda all over the United States and Europe. He was active in the Lutheran Church, where he led Bible Study for many years. His family and friends will miss his kind, gentle spirit. He was a cherished and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Cline is survived by his daughter, Carol Ann Honeywell of Little Rock, Ark .; sister Marie Toepfer of Stayton; brother Tillman Rains and wife Shirley of Stayton; three grandsons and two great-granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Freda Cline; their son, Marvin Cline; his brother, Bud Cline; and son-in-law Hank Honeywell.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 11, at Grace Lutheran Church, 5124 Hillcrest, Little Rock, AR 72205. After the service, the family will welcome friends at a reception at the church.
