Charles Vernon Parrish, 77, of Sweet Home died March 31, 2011 at his home.
He was born Feb. 21, 1934 in Anniston, Ala., to Eddie Lee and Lillian Beatrice Parrish.
After high school Mr. Parrish entered the U.S. Air Force, where he worked as a mechanic. He and longtime friend Jean Clark married in June of 1973 and moved to Sweet Home. They moved away from Sweet Home for a short time, but returned, making Sweet Home their home.
Mr. Parrish played country western music and loved fishing and camping. In 1978 he became a member of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Parrish; son Aaron Parrish of Sweet Home; daughters Joyce E. Edwards of Alsea and Joyce Lee of Southern California; stepbrother Jack Lamberson of Southern California; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father and step-brother.
Memorial Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, April 9, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 4714 Highway 20, Sweet Home, Oregon. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
