Charles R. Southmayd, 80, of Sweet Home died Feb. 21, 2013.
He was born Nov. 16, 1932 in Myrtle Point to Charles Iron and Estella Mae (Woodruff) Southmayd.
He served in the United States Air Force. He was a Mason for 21 years.
Mr. Southmayd worked as an aerospace technician for Hughes Aircraft. He loved to hunt, fish, shoot stuff and build things.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Dolores Maria Southmayd; children Shawn Aaron Southmayd of Sacramento, Calif., Deanna Mae Hollenback of Aquilla, Texas, John Charles Southmayd of Round Rock, Texas, and William Richard Southmayd of Scappoose; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
