Sweet Home’s stunt cheer squad took fourth place at the 2010 Allstate Cheer Competition Nov. 20 at Springfield High School. The group, which includes three freshmen, competed at the 1A-4A level. Individually, Taylor Thorpe finished third, winning a $400 scholarship, while freshman Mariah Morneault was fifth, winning a $200 scholarship. Thorpe was on crutches seven weeks before the competition, after injuring herself during the football cheer season, her mother said.
