Sweet Home’s high school cheerleaders had a big weekend at the Jamz Cheer Nationals in Las Vegas Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24-25.
The Huskies finished first in Friday’s competition against what Coach Amber Rosa described as “some incredible teams.”
They were third in both Varsity Coed Sideline and Varsity 3.1 competitions on Saturday after, Rosa said, dropping a stunt.
“I’m still so proud that the small-town kids really held their own in one of the toughest divisions out there,” Rosa said.
Sweet Home also hosted its own Sweet Home Cheer Classic competition on Jan. 18. Since they were the hosts, the Huskies could not compete, but the younger cheer groups did for Sweet Home. Here are results of those competitions:

The high school team will compete Feb. 14 and 15 at the OSAA state championships at Oregon City High School.
