There was an abundant joy and rejoicing in Heaven on Sept. 22, 2021, when Cherri Joan Washburne, 60, of Sweet Home, was ushered through the Pearly Gates to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Cherri was a loving, kind, and giving person, who lived for her family. She loved people, dancing, singing, volunteering, and knitting hats for cancer patients as well as babies in the NICU.
Our hearts will be forever filled by her love, she was an angel among us.
Cherri was born in Pagosa Springs, Colo., to Darrell and Sharon Tate on Sept. 21, 1961.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, William Washburne; daughter Candice Voss (husband Philip); and sons Darrell Brummett (fiancé Katie Maixner), Levi Brummett and Travis Brummett. She is also survived by her father, Darrell Tate and step-mother Mary “Little Mama” McMillan; her brother Dennie Hughes; sister Tina Clark; and to continue her legacy of love and joy, seven grandchildren whom she treasured and adored, Iydin, Alyrica, William, Lillianna, Maizey, Nevaeh and Sylas.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Tate; and two siblings, Charmaine Hughes and Steven Tate.
Although our hearts are broken, great comfort is taken knowing that we will see her smiling face again.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the First Christian Church of Junction City.
