Cherry Walker

July 18, 1946- Aug. 20, 2011

Cherry Kay Walker, 65, of Lebanon, died at home on Aug. 20, 2011.

She was born July 18, 1946 in Sweet Home to T.J. and Francis (Comer) Adams.

She was raised in Sodaville in the family home her father built. She had worked various jobs until finding her calling as a foster parent; which she did for 17 years until retiring in 2007 and moving to Lebanon from Sodaville. She was a kind, gentle soul who loved caring for others and would help anyone in need, great or small.

Mrs. Walker was a born-again Christian and loved reading her Bible and watching Christian television programs. She enjoyed doing word finds, going to the coast, and spending time with family and friends. She was very artistic and enjoyed anything to do with art. She also loved animals, especially horses and dogs.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughters, Darci Carper and Angela Walker, both of Lebanon; son Rod and daughter-in-law RaNee Osborne of Portland; two grandchildren; brothers Terry and Jerry Adams of Lebanon and Gary Adams of Newport; and brother-in-law Bill Taylor of Sweet Home. She is also survived by her dog Isaac, cat Romeo, and many others who considered her “Mom.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, T.J. and Francis Adams, and sister Mary Taylor.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 1 at the Lebanon Foursquare Church, with a potluck gathering following the services.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Darci to help defray final expenses.
