Chris Allen Windom
February 18 1965 – December 27, 2023
Chris was born to W. Clinton Windom and Louise (Thompson) Windom in Lakeview, on February 18, 1965. After Chris’s parents divorced, his father moved to Sweet Home where, in 1969, he met and married Bonnie Hutchison, whose daughter Clarice was Chris’s age. Chris and his sister attended local schools in Sweet Home until the family moved to Maupin. Two younger brothers, Kelley and Aubry, joined the family. Chris graduated from Maupin High in 1983 as an outstanding football player. His classmates remember him fondly, noting his team spirit, readiness to help, and encouragement to underclassmen and new players. After graduation, he joined the Air Force. In 1993, he married Deberalyn and welcomed her daughter Jennifer. They had three daughters together: Sherry, Melanie, and Cloey, raising their family in Sweet Home. Known for his quiet ways and awesome smile, Chris was especially proud of his girls, who always brought out his award-winning smile. Chris is survived by his daughters Sherry, Melanie, and Cloey Windom of Sweet Home; Jennifer Stieg and son Adrian of Michigan; grandson Spencer; and granddaughter Sophia. His mother Bonnie, brother Aubry (with his family Josie, Jaedacie, and William) of Bend; step-sister Clarice of Corvallis; three nephews and a niece also survive him. Many cousins, aunts, and uncles remember Chris fondly. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Clinton Windom and brother Kelly. The date for the celebration of life is yet to be determined.
