Citizen’s Academy begins March 9

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office is announcing its 15th class of the Citizen’s Academy. Classes begin March 9 and conclude on May 18.

Participants can look forward to 35 hours of interesting training designed to provide awareness and understanding of police procedures and conduct. The training is presented as a lecture, demonstrations and hands-on experiences.

The academy is free and open to any Linn County resident. Classes are held in Albany on Tuesday evenings from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. Space is limited to 24 participants.

Applications may be obtained at the Sheriff’s Office, by visiting its website at http://www.linnsheriff.org or by calling (541) 917-6671. Applications must be returned no later than 5 p.m. on March 1.
