The New Era will host a forum for Sweet Home City Council candidates at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, in the City Council chambers at City Hall, 3225 Main St.
All of the six candidates for three open City Council seats have been invited to participate. The event is free and the public is welcome. It will be recorded and posted for viewing.
Members of the audience will be able to submit questions on index cards, which will be provided. No campaign banners, signs, literature handouts or other campaign paraphernalia will be allowed in the council chambers, but a table will be available outside for such items.
The event will be moderated by Ken Bronson, former director of the Sweet Home Senior Center and Linn Shuttle, who will present questions submitted by the audience and will be responsible for maintaining order and impartiality.
Although virtual participation in the live event will not be possible, residents unable to attend are welcome to submit questions to [email protected]. Write “Candidates Question” on the subject line.
