City finance director Kleinman resigns

City of Sweet Home Finance Director Ted Kleinman resigned from his position.

Kleinman was within the probationary period for the position and resigned following an evaluation.

The decision to resign was made mutually between the city and Kleinman, City Manager Craig Martin said.

Kleinman began working for Sweet Home on Oct. 1.

He moved to Sweet Home from Portland with previous experience in government as accounting manager for the City of Beverly Hills and finance director for the Portland Housing Authority. He spent four years working in Saudi Arabia with the Arabian-American Oil Company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from California State University at Northridge.

Martin told The New Era he could not discuss the details of the evaluation, considered a personnel matter.

Former Finance Director Pat Gray will fill in while the City of Sweet Home seeks a new finance director and as the city goes through its annual budgeting process.
