City Quality Development Awards awarded to six local businesses

The Sweet Home Planning Commission presented its annual Quality Development Awards Monday evening.

The awards are given to recognize new construction and property improvements around town. The following are the recipients of awards this year:

– A&W, owned by Josh and Patty Hankins, 1010 Main St., for exterior improvements, adding outdoor seating.

– The old bus depot, owned by Stephen Keating, 1225 12th Ave. for exterior improvements and making Sweet Home more attractive.

– HealthMarkets, 1228 Main St., business owned by Bill Matthews and property owned by Manuel Victor Sr., for painting improvements.

– McDonald’s, 2000 Main St., for major improvements with the addition of a two-lane drive- through.

– O&M Point S Tire, owned by Rick, Chris and T.J. Funk, for site improvements and painting.

– Valley View Logging, owned by Chuck and Cindy Sieg, 1288 46th Ave., for property improvements and improving Sweet Home.
