City still has problems

Editor:

What is wrong with the city department heads? What type of experience do they have to have to be in their position? I guess it is who you know or what family worker is already employed.

On Thursday, Dec. 13, I received a notice on my doormat dropped off at 8:30 a.m. saying “the water will be shut off from 9:00 a.m. to ?” – no reason why or anything. Two days before this I turned on the water to give my cats some and the water came out brown and murky. So I put in a call. And, of course, there was no reply.

I was irate about the notice of half an hour and for what? The “Public Works Dept.” does not even turn it off. I guess they have to put all their employees (which, I think could be cut in half, and a new manager replace) to work

A few months ago I contacted the Police Department about the corner where CenturyTel and Key Bank are in regards to cars parked along Long Street. I stated you can not see any cars going east. And today, there still sits a vehicle.

On (a recent) Saturday, I was going down Long Street towards Hwy. 228. A car came out of the laundromat parking lot and he almost hit me. And why? There were cars parked all along on Long Street again. The gentleman could not see around and I don’t blame him, I blame the Police Department.

They should see all these hazards, but instead they are off doing whatever it is they do.

And this $4 price increase for storm water? Why should we the over-taxed public pay for this? Why was there little notice of this?

Where is the taxpayers’ money being spent? I have a copy of the budget but I really cannot put a finger on where the money really goes since the city puts it in so many general funds.

I see a newer truck with “Parks” on it drive around our loop at least once a week.

I say we bring Donald Trump in and tell all department heads: “You’re Fired!” It’s bad enough the idiot governor we have who keeps giving raises yet complains there are not enough funds for police protection on Interstate 5.

I say, fire them all. They are worthless.

What is our tax money being spent for? Yes, I have a copy of the budget, but I see no new changes to this town. Perhaps the people here need to start a “Watch Dog Program ” like Toledo, Ore., has. It is a group who come together and fight for the taxpayers’ rights.
