Right: Ducks fans Allen Hall and Larry Christensen line face off their opponents. White’s Electronics held a contest between employees Friday in anticipation of Saturday’s Civil War. In the contest, the two teams attempted to throw a football through a hole in a sheet of plywood decorated with OSU and UO colors. Unlike their namesakes, the Ducks defeated the Beavers 30-12 despite being outnumbered. The Ducks led 6-0 after the first quarter, 18-0 after two and 30-0 after three. Each quarter, participants were allowed to move closer to the goal, but the Beavers failed to score until Wolfe and Shirley Davis each threw one in during the fourth to score 12 for the Beavers. White’s Electronics employees get serious about Civil War each year dressing in their colors and decorating the business. White’s Electronics produces metal detectors, which are sold throughout the world.
