Clara Windom
March 24, 1931 – July 11, 2024
Clara Windom, age 93 years, passed away on July 11, 2024. She was born in Portland, on March 24, 1931 to Thomas and Mary Miller. At age 5, she moved with her family to the Sweet Home area. In 1949, shortly after her SHS graduation, Clara married Douglas Windom. He preceded her in death in 2006. She devoted her life to her six children: Gwenyth, Walter, Elaine, Grant, Shawn (deceased) and Lynette. As the years went by, Clara welcomed 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Clara’s passions were garage sales, bingo and quilting. Nothing thrilled her more than a good bargain, shouting “BINGO!” or sharing her quilting skills with others. Clara graced her countless friends with her kindness and generosity. To commemorate Clara’s long life, her family invites all who knew her to join them for a Remembrance Gathering on July 20, 2014 at the Sweet Home Senior Citizens Center, 880 18th Ave. Please drop by between 2 and 5 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Clara’s name may be made to Sweet Home Senior Center or to Lebanon American Legion Santiam Post 51.
