Clarence Dale ‘Pete’ Hyde, 81, of Sweet Home, died Feb. 6, 2006.
He was born in Atoka County, Okla., to Joe and Della (Campbell) Hyde.
Mr. Hyde moved to Glover, Okla., in 1934, and later served in the United States Navy from 1942 to 1945. After he was discharged, he came to Oregon where he met Nell Steele. They married on Aug. 14, 1948. They lived a short time in California and in Juneau, Alaska. In 1956, they moved to Sweet Home, where they settled. Mr. Hyde worked for Sweet Home Veneer and later Griggs, where he retired.
He is survived by: his wife, Nell Hyde of Sweet Home; children, Rhonda (Dwight) English and Vonda (Keith) Rowling; four grandchildren; sisters Georgia Sparkman of Oklahoma and Fern Bess of North Bend; brother Edgel Hyde of Oklahoma; and friend Jason Bruggeman.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; his brother, Carrel; and three sisters, Alta Hughes, R.V. Bean, and Imagene Cole.
A funeral service was held Feb. 9 at Waterloo Chapel. Burial was at Gilliland Cemetery in Sweet Home. Workman & Steckly Funeral Chapel handled the arrangements.
