Firefighters get set to pump water onto flames that destroyed an old scale shack at 1400 Zelcova St., an extension of Clark Mill Road early Friday morning, June 7. The fire was reported at 5 a.m. and firefighters had to cut through a locked gate to get equipment to the scene, an old mill site. The structure was fully involved when firefighters arrived, according to a Sweet Home Fire and Ambulance District report. The building was reported as a total loss and no damage estimate was available. Firefighters responded later in the morning, at 9:54 a.m., to check the site again after a report of smoke.
