Clella Barger

Clella Belle Barger, 76, a resident of Seal Rock, died June 15, 2007 at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

She was born Dec. 28, 1930 in Sweet Home, the daughter of Russell and Ethel (McKern) Alexander. She married Jack L. Barger and as a young couple they moved around for many years until they settled down in the Yakima Valley. Jack Barger was a truck driver and pastor. Mrs. Barger manufactured fishing lures at Warden’s Lures. They lived in Granger, Wash., from 1964 to 2003, when Jack Barger died.

Mrs. Barger stopped working and continued living in Granger, spending time with family often. During the last year she lived with her son and daughter-in-law in Seal Rock.

Mrs. Barger loved to read and garden. She loved being a grandmother and loved her family.

She is survived by two sons, David Barger of Fort Worth, Texas, and Joe and his wife, Linda Barger of Seal Rock; one brother, John Alexander; one sister, Alice Schwitzer; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Jackie Wade; one son, Larry Barger; and three brothers.

A graveside service was held June 19 at Liberty Cemetery in Sweet Home, Oregon. A memorial service will be held in July, at a yet-undetermined date. Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
