Cliver leads JV Huskies in 34-8 romp over W’ville

Donny Cliver led the Husky JV football squad to a 34-8 romp over Wilsonville Thursday at Husky Field.

The Huskies were never threatened in the non-league outing, scoring twice in the first and second quarters and once in the third for the win. Wilsonville did not get on the board until the fourth quarter.

Coach David Younger said that for the second week in a row his Huskies executed very well offensively and defensively.

“Defensively we played extremely well, holding Wilsonville scoreless for nearly all four quarters,” Coach Younger said. “Wilsonville scored with only four minutes left in the game. Offensively, the line played extremely well and dominated the line of scrimmage. Donny Cliver had an excellent day, throwing the football for two TD passes.”

Sweet Home’s first TD was a 38 yard pass to Howe from Cliver. PAT was by Cliver.

Safety Martin tackled a Wilsonville running back in the end zone for the next score and then Cliver scored on a seven yard run.

Miner scored on a 14 yard run with PAT by Cliver, Matuszak tallied on a 48 yard pass from Cliver and then Cliver rounded out the game with a 24 yard run.

Wilsonville’s lone TD was a 24 yard run followed by a three-yard PAT run.

The JV Huskies host Sisters Thursday at 5 p.m.
