Maria Kropf finished 24th in a field of 40 in the young women’s 100 hurdles at the USA Track and Field Junior Olympics meet July 29- Aug. 1 at Greensboro, N.C.
Kropf, who will be a junior this fall at Sweet Home, ran 15.23 in the hurdles.
She was 40th out of 44 in the 100, running 12.54.
“In all honesty, I think she did great,” said her coach, Jim Kistner, who could not go to the meet.
“With her competing at such a high level for so long, from districts (in May) to the end of July, her maintaining what she did. especially going out there by herself, she ran as well as I could have expected.
“It’s definitely an indication she’s ready to step up, go out with the big people.”
