Community Foundation opens grant cycle

The Sweet Home Community Foundation is pleased to announce its second annual grant cycle.

Proposals will be accepted that benefit the Sweet Home community. The proposed grant recipient must be a 501(c)3 or other qualified tax-exempt organization, or the charitable or educational project must be implemented in affiliation with such an organization.

Successful projects will have the following characteristics:

— Improve the Quality of Life in Sweet Home, have broad community support and/or foster community involvement, and have a lasting, beneficial effect.

— Funding sources for the grants include Sweet Home Economic Development Group (SHEDG) contributions from the Oregon Jamboree, as well as individual tax-deductible donations from friends and neighbors in the Sweet Home community.

— Grants are available up to $2,500.00 each. Applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce (1575 Main Street, Sweet Home) and posted on the website “http://www.sweethomeoregon.org” Sweet Home Community Foundation.

The application period opened December 1 and closes January 16. Grant applications must be returned to the Sweet Home Chamber of Commerce by 5 p.m. January 16, 2004. Grant recipients will be announced on March 25 at the Sweet Home Breakfast Club.
