Thank you, Sweet Home!
On behalf of the SHHS Band, I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the many people who have supported us as we build our program. Your donations and kind words have meant the world to us!
We would like to express our deep appreciation to the Sweet Home Elks Lodge for their continued generosity. For the past three years, their donations have helped to strengthen our program and give our students opportunities they might not otherwise have. Their most recent donation of $7,500 allowed us to replace old, irreparable timpani, and purchase two trombones and two flutes. Because of this donation, more children will have the opportunity to participate in band.
With the help of donations and the Sweet Home School District, we were able to purchase marching percussion, and we were able to launch a marching band this year! We will see you at the SH Christmas Parade on Dec. 13!
Many others have donated, some preferring to remain anonymous, and many businesses have supported our candy sale, especially the VFW who sold all year long! There are so many people and businesses to thank. We appreciate all you have done for us!
Your support and your kindness reminds us that music is not just about notes on a page – it’s about connection, tradition, and community pride. As a 1987 SHHS graduate myself, I take great pride in our music program, and I still love shouting out “Go Huskies”!
If you are interested in making a tax-deductible donation to the band program, please contact Lori Tuter or the main office at SHHS. We invite you to our Christmas concert at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, in the Sweet Home High School Auditorium.
