I enjoy reading the Public Safety portion of the paper.
Lately I am concerned about people reporting “tall weeds and grass.” Why? It’s everywhere in Sweet Home.
Today (Aug. 13) was the most ridiculous reporting of all! “Aug. 4: Caller reported a garage sale sign had blown into her yard.” This is abuse of calling the non-emergency line at the Police Department.
Just go out pick it up and throw it out.
There are so many important things going on here. Homeless, hungry, drugs, parents neglecting their children, animal neglect, etc. The people who drive around and look for tall weeds, find something useful to do.
I can’t help but think that some of the yards are owned by the elderly, incapable of doing yard work. Organize some young people who need community service hours to help clean up. Kids at East Linn Christian Academy, for instance, need to perform 11½ hours of community service annually.
Quit your belly-aching and find a solution if it bothers you.
