Sweet Home and Lebanon police departments are participating in a “high-visibility enforcement campaign” to deter drunk driving on Super Bowl Sunday.
High visibility enforcement, increasing the number of officers on the streets aggressively seeking out drunk drivers, is designed to deter people from driving after they’ve been drinking, said Sweet Home Police Sgt. Jason Van Eck.
“Impaired driving has become an increasingly dangerous time in Sweet Home and Lebanon during Super Bowl Sunday. That’s why we’re joining forces to crack down on impaired drivers.
“Our goal is simple – To save lives. Whatever you drive, if you’re drunk, you will be arrested.”
Specially trained officers will be on hand, demonstrating field sobriety tests used to identify drunk drivers, Van Eck said.
