Cops seek suspect after early-morning robbery on Friday, Feb. 10

Linn County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a robbery that occurred Friday morning, Feb. 10, in the 2000 block of Birch Street in Sweet Home.

According to Sheriff Bruce Riley, at 7:07 a.m., the Linn County 911 Dispatch Center received a call from a victim and deputies responded to the residence.

The 56- year- old male victim told deputies this morning he woke up to find a male standing over him, shining a light in his eyes and demanding money. The victim resisted and was choked by the suspect during the altercation.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash and several knives from the residence. The victim had minor injuries and refused any medical treatment.

The suspect is described as an adult male, wearing a ski mask and possibly known by the victim. At this time, deputies do not believe there was any weapon used by the suspect.

Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies and Sweet Home Police have been searching the area for the suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
