Wildlife agencies continue to look for a cougar that was sighted on 43rd Avenue two weeks ago.
So far, they have not located the animal, but they are continuing with plans to trap it when they find it, said Police Chief Jeff Lynn, based on the last information he has received.
Since then, police have received reports of three additional sightings.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, a caller reported seeing a cougar in his yard during the night in the 1300 block of Clark Mill Road. The crouching cougar was watching deer in his yard.
On Monday, Sept. 23, a caller reported that a neighbor had seen a cougar in the early morning in another neighbor’s yard in the 3500 block of Juniper Street.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, a caller reported seeing a cougar in her yard in the 1300 block of Clark Mill Road.
In each case, police have forwarded the information to a wildlife biologist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Lynn said.
