Council to be short

The Sweet Home City Council was scheduled to meet Tuesday night, Dec. 10, but no activity was planned.

The council initially intended to cancel the meeting, but the city charter requires the council to meet at least once a month. The council had already formally canceled its regular meeting scheduled for Dec. 24, Christmas Eve.

With no quorum and no agenda items, President Pro Tem Diane Gerson was scheduled to officially open the Dec. 10 meeting and then adjourn.

Agenda items that had been intended for the Dec. 10 meeting will move forward to the council’s next regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 at City Hall, 3225 Main St.

They include the introduction and request for a first reading of an ordinance that would prohibit people from using bus shelters for any other purpose except waiting for a bus and the third reading and possible decision on the downtown area exclusion ordinance.
