Councilman jumps to conclusions

Editor:

In regards to Sean Morgan’s column dated Feb. 1, 2006, he hit it right on the head. Councilman Gourley made it very clear that he does not want a private partnership taking over the city’s sewer system. The proposal that Mike Adams brought forth was made very clear that it would not obligate the city to contract with them. So why delay this proposal if the city attorney stated things were in order?

I again am asking the citizens of Sweet Home to attend these City Council meetings. And ask why the taxpayers are paying $53,000 for an aerial shot of the town rather than using the funds for equipment that was specified at last years budget meeting. Is this not misleading the budget committee members? How many proposals were asked for before agreeing to the one they have hired to do the aerial photography?

Ask why our city is unable to bring new business to our area? Is it because they don’t want to see our town prosper? Are their minds already made up?

Come to the meetings, citizens, unless you don’t care that your hard-earned tax money goes to waste. I do care and I am fed up with it. Come help me please !!!!!
