The final order in the conviction of Robert A. Peel, 36, of Sweet Home for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamines was filed on April 8.
Peel was sentenced in late February to 45 months in prison with 36 months of post-prison supervision for the crime, a B felony.
A murder charge was dismissed after a jury failed to reach a verdict.
Peel had been accused of murdering David Jesse Shoop of Coquille. Shoop’s body was found wrapped in duct tape and chains in Foster Lake in December 2000. Peel and a Philomath man were arrested and charged in the murder. The charge against the second man was later dropped, and he testified during Peel’s trial.
