Firefighters and police work at the scene of a single-vehicle crash Monday night, March 24, that knocked out power to much of the east end of Sweet Home. Police said the 1986 Dodge pickup, driven by Jeremy Lonnie Victor, 37, of Sweet Home, was eastbound when it crossed the westbound lanes, struck a power pole (visible behind the truck), breaking it, and rolled in a field. Victor was transported by medics to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Police Chief Jeff Lynn said an investigation is continuing and alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. The crash knocked out power to most residents east of 18th Avenue and north of Main Street.
